In line with the embarkation of the Ministry of Education on the initiatives to improve the reading skills of students at both Primary and Secondary levels, Chung Ching Middle School had launched its Reading Programme recently. The ceremonies were conducted in all three levels inclusive the Kindergarten level. In all three separate launching events, the 3 sections had elaborate ceremonies such as playing of the lion dance musics and cutting of ribbons. Many parents had also donated a lot of story books in aid of the Reading Programme.
The Principal, Mdm Cheong Poh Lian, emphasized on the aim to develop a reading culture in Chung Ching so that all children can continue on a lifelong quest for learning through reading. She further stated that through intelligent reading the impact can bring about improvement in the quality of languages. The aim of making children love to read will lead to the strong foundation in the three languages taught in Chung Ching, i.e English, Malay and Chinese languages.
